MARINETTE, Wis. (NNS) -- The Navy, along with the Lockheed Martin-led industry team, christened and launched the future USS Milwaukee in a ceremony at the Marinette Marine Corporation shipyard Dec. 18, marking an important production milestone for the littoral combat ship program.

NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL HIRES FIRST ROUND OF LOCAL FIRMS TO WORK ON NEW HIGH-RISE OFFICE TOWER; PREPARATION FOR DEMOLITION OF EAST BUILDING
Northwestern Mutual today announced that it has selected more than a dozen Milwaukee-area firms to help with a variety of roles related to the construction of its new 1.1 million-square-foot Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons. The company also announced it has already partnered with more than three dozen local companies to prepare for the demolition of the company’s east building in downtown Milwaukee. Demolition is expected to begin in December, with construction of the new office tower beginning in the latter half of 2014.
